Temperamentally, these dogs are very energetic and lively. With this breed, training must be started rather early. Socialization and obedience are very important for these hounds. They should be trained not to follow their nose in public places and obey the owner completely. Since these dogs have a very strong hunting instinct, uncontrolled behavior in puppies can lead to misbehavior in future. These dogs usually adore children and can play for hours. They should not be trusted with smaller kids, because they may unknowingly hurt a child.

kennels, picture
These sturdy little dogs are considered one of the smallest of the hunting hounds. They are rather compact and athletic. The dogs of this breed have short weather resistant coats. The hounds have some typical physical features, such as a long skull, low set, moderately long, droop ears, large eyes, a muscular body, and curved tail. There are two size varieties within this breed: up to 13 inches at the withers and up to 15 inches. They have similar temperaments and working abilities. In the 13th century, so-called glove miniature hounds were very popular among British nobility. Ask for a picture of a beagle at kennels and view a picture of the best in show dogs.
